Top athletes work hard to be at the top and in return, they get paid millions which gives them the power to afford almost anything.

They live in fancy homes, eat at fancy restaurants and most definitely, drive the finest cars on this planet.

While it’s not unusual for well-known sports personalities to be driving around in six-figure cars, some famous names take it further than the rest.

Here are the most expensive cars owned by athletes.

John Cena: Custom Corvette ($200,000)

The wrestling superstar had Parker Brothers Concepts whip up this beast called the InCENArator for the celebrity Gumball 3000 rally. It all began with a wrecked ‘Vette chassis, so we’re guessing it cost at least $200,000 if it cost anything.

Mercedes-Benz SL65-AMG – $227,175 (Didier Drogba)

Former Chelsea player Didier Drogba was at one point one of the highest-paid players in the world. It’s not a surprise the gifted man drives one of the most expensive Mercedes Benz. Drogba’s Mercedes-Benz SL65-AMG isn’t cheap and goes for roughly $227, 175.

Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren – $636,090 (El Hadji Diouf)

Although El Hadji Diouf doesn’t play among the best in the world any longer, as he’s 34 years old and is currently in the Malaysian Soccer League, that doesn’t mean he didn’t make great money when he was in the world’s top divisions.

Seen with several different cars with a high price tag, Diouf’s most expensive ride was a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren that was a whopping $636,090. Not bad for a guy who has never been a household name.

LeBron James: Lamborghini Aventador

Lebron James’ car plans began with a Lamborghini Aventador and ended with a floral sneaker design. Rich B. Caliente, Lou La Vie, and Toys for Boys Miami finished it off with this wrap design commissioned by Nike for the release of the King James Legacy line.

In the end, they created one expensive car ($670,000) appropriate for the NBA’s best player. LeBron’s car collecting pace seems to have slowed since his Kia sponsorship, but he has driven some memorable vehicles over the years.

McLaren P1 – Paul Pogba($1.15)

At $1.15, Paul Pogba got his McLaren P1. The hybrid hypercar is the crown of McLaren’s range, with 903hp and is not a joke.

Ferrari LaFerrari – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Wrapped in chrome to complement his Lamborghini Aventador and Lamborghini Huracan Performante, this is one of the most instantly-recognizable cars on our list.

Ferrari Enzo – Floyd Mayweather

The Ferrari Enzo is one of the most instantly-recognizable cars on the planet.

Floyd is an avid car collector, with no less than three fully-stocked car collections dotted around North America. With a mix of ultra-luxurious Rolls Royces and seven-figure hypercars, Floyd has it all.

One of the most iconic cars in the world is the Ferrari Enzo, and Mayweather just had to have one. Costing around $3 million, his Enzo was sold at auction, likely to make space for more incredible cars.

Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita – Floyd Mayweather

Floyd’s CCXR is the most expensive car he’s ever owned.

“Money” Mayweather makes his second entrance on this list thanks to his insane cars. Despite having some incredible vehicles in his garages, there is one standout car that he’s owned.

The Jewel in his collection is undoubtedly his Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita. This $4.8m hypercar is one of only two in existence. Sadly, Mayweather sold the car, and lost a whopping $2.2 million in the process.

Bugatti Centodieci – Cristiano Ronaldo

The Centodieci will be the most expensive in Ronaldo’s hypercar collection, once it’s delivered.

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most famous and well-recognized sports personalities in the world. Naturally, that comes with some big paychecks, which he spends on his extensive car collection.
