Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is set to be named the new manager of Championship side Bournemouth, according to several reports.

Bournemouth has been in the hunt for a new manager for the last few weeks after the dismissal of Jason Tindall.

Henry is currently manager at MLS side Montreal Impact but could make the switch as The Cherries prepare to invite him for talks.

43-year old Henry is on Bournemouth’s shortlist along with his former team mate Patrick Viera, who is currently out of work.

Despite his glittery playing career, Henry, who is Arsenal’s all-time goal scorer, has not been as successful as a manager.

His first managerial stint was with Arsenal’s youth set up before joining Roberto Martinez as Belgium’s assistant coach.

He left the Belgium role to take charge of his former club Monaco as head coach and had a disastrous run of form which saw him sacked after months in charge having only won two league matches.

He took charge of Montreal Impact in November 2019 and in his first campaign, guided the team to their first play offs since 2016.

At the moment, he is preparing his current MLS side for the 2021 season which is set to kick off in April.
