Tiger Woods is on the up as he continues to recover from a horrific car accident, his team has said in a statement.

According to the statement, the 45-year old is “recovering and in good spirits” after surgery and follow-up procedures on his legs.

“Tiger has moved to Medars Sinai Medical centre and received follow-up procedures on his injuries this morning,” the statement begins. “The procedures were successful, and he is now recovering and in good spirits.”

“Tiger and his family want to thank you all for the wonderful support and messages they have received over the past few days. We will not have any further updates at this time. Thank you for your continued privacy,”  the statement reads.

Woods was involved in a single-vehicle crash on Tuesday at the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes in California,

Firefighters found him conscious at the scene, although he was described as being very calm.

County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said on Wednesday that the incident was “purely an accident” and authorities would not pursue it further.

Despite initially looking like a career-ending injury, sources close to the golf star says he is determined not to see his career end in this manner and wants to get back to his feet again.

Woods is widely regarded as the greatest golfer of all time.
