Kanye West Legal Battles With Gap Take A New Turn

Kanye West, better known as Ye, plans to break his ten-year deal with Gap.

Ye has initiated his legal battle with the Gap clothing brand and has appointed none other than Tesla CEO Alex Spiro as his attorney.

His lawyers did not send the official termination notice until Thursday, September 16. Ye ended his collaboration with Gap, claiming the business had violated their contract during an appearance on CNBC.

On social media, West also announced that he intends to launch a chain of Yeezy boutiques, beginning in Atlanta and eventually spreading throughout the United States and the rest of the world.

Additionally, he revealed that he will end his current business partnership with Adidas in 2026, declaring that it was time for him to venture out on his own.

“No more companies standing in between me and the audience,” he said.

Ye just recently reached a deal with the Gap stores to enable him to produce a Yeezy collection for the retailer.

Nonetheless, they recently ended their collaboration since their visions did not coincide. This also applies to the Yeezy sunglasses that they had been promoting at the time.

In one of his recent interviews, he stated that the Gap’s desire to overprice the collection was one of the reasons the two were parting ways.

Mark Breitbart, the president of Gap, instantly sent an email to every employee of Gap Inc. implying that it was a decision reached by consensus following West’s accusation and appeal to end contract.

“While we share a vision of bringing high-quality, trend-forward, utilitarian design to all
people through unique omni experiences with Yeezy Gap, how we work together to deliver
this vision is not aligned. And we are deciding to wind down the partnership.” The email
stated.

Gap and Ye had signed a partnership of 10 years.
