Floyd Mayweather pulled a Floyd Mayweather recently as he named himself as the greatest boxer of all time.

The Money Man was asked to name the top five best boxer and he did not hesitate to name himself at the very top.

Mayweather retired undefeated in 2017, making millions in his lucrative career which entailed an untarnished record of 50 wins (27 knockouts) and zero losses.

He recently made a TV appearance on ESPN where he was asked to name the best of the best he has ever seen.

It is kind to note that the 41-year old had the impressive catalogue of the likes of Rocky Marciano, Joe Louis and Muhammad Ali to choose from.

Despite a long list of boxing legends, Mayweather placed himself at the top and was quick to justify his decision to put himself top of the pile.

“He’s beat more world champions than any other fighter in a shorter time and less fights than any other fighter,” Mayweather said, speaking about himself in the third person.

“Landed punches at the highest percentage and took less punishment. He’s been world champion 18 years in five different weight divisions.”

While it was slightly expected that a man of Mayweather’s ego would put himself top of the list, there was some great discontent in his list as he placed Muhammad Ali in position five.

He praised Muhammad Ali primarily not because of his boxing ability, but for for his cultural impact for African Americans.

As far as Ali “The Greatest’s” achievements were concerned, Mayweather was critical of some of his feats.

“Ali, only one weight class and really lost to Ken Norton three times,” he said.
